GET TO KNOW MELODY:
Where were you Born?
I was born and raised in Evansville, IN
Tell us about your ministry experience?
I have served in the Kentucky District Assemblies of God for 6 years.
Worship through music has been the focal point of my ministry throughout my life. I have been involved with leading worship in every church I have attended. I have served through worship in Chi Alpha campus ministries and had the opportunity to lead at several smaller houses of worship throughout Evansville and Henderson. I have also served as a children’s pastor for 9 months, as well as a leader for middle school girls for 3 years. My husband and I currently lead the Thrive young adult Connect Group.
What about your education and credentials can you tell us?
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana.
I held credentials in the state of Kentucky at the certified level and will be transferring those to a license in the state of Indiana this fall.
What do you enjoy doing?
When I get the time I love to paint canvases and be creative in the kitchen.
My favorite color is purple.
My favorite food is pizza! A close second is chocolate. .
I love to watch basketball and football. I don’t really have a favorite team in either, I just enjoy the game!
Do you have a favorite dessert?
Favorite dessert - I like anything sweet!
What would be your favorite scripture?
My favorite verse is Philippians 4:6-7 which says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” I love these verses because they remind me to constantly take everything before the Lord. There are so many things in this life that can make us anxious. This scripture is a promise that if we take our troubles to Him, he will fill us with peace and guard our minds. That is so reassuring to me.
Is there any bible characters that really speaks to you?
My favorite Bible character is probably Joshua. Joshua followed the Lord even when it seemed like no one was looking. He was faithful to Moses in his early years and correctly saw God’s provision in the promised land. His faithfulness eventually led him to be the one to take the Israelites into the promised land. He sought the presence of the Lord and God used him mightily.
